Here’s what therapists say about Healing the Heart of Trauma and Dissociation with EMDR and Ego State Therapy – the Live Workshop

As a trauma therapist using EMDR as my primary modality but needing additional tools for dealing with the dissociation and attachment issues that often come with complex trauma, I have attended many workshops on dissociation, emotional regulation, and attachment issues. This course stands out above all the others. Combining EMDR with ego state therapy, and drawing from both traditional and innovative methods for working with dissociative disorders, Carol Forgash presents an integrated and nuanced approach, offering a variety of tools and strategies that are immediately useful. She is, moreover, a great presenter — clear, thoughtful, warm, and humorous. This course is well worth the time and cost.

Thanks for everything,

Deborah Woolley, MSW (10/15)

The enormity of Carol Forgash’s contribution to the evolving theory and application of EMDR to complex trauma cannot be overstated. Carol is one of the original developers of ego state theory/EMDR integration and one of its most creative practitioners. Her workshops are impassioned, thorough, and eminently practical. Attend on Saturday and you’ll be doing better therapy on Monday.

I finally took an EMDRIA workshop from Carol this weekend (March 2014). I really really wish I’d done this sooner!!

Although I’ve explicitly been interacting with clients’ parts for years, the way Carol so creatively collectively works with them, has been a missing piece for me. Her approach helpfully expands my understanding of parts work as well as greatly enriches my repertoire of interventions. I can’t wait to immediately apply what I learned.

Refreshingly direct, down to earth and delightfully humorous, Carol teaches from a place inside herself of highly informed, deeply lived clinical experience. If you haven’t already done so, I’d recommend availing yourself of learning from this engaging wise master within our community, sooner rather than later.

Kind regards,

Elizabeth Lehmann

Carol was responsible for helping me develop my interest in ego state therapy as a way of enhancing my EMDR practice.  I invited Carol to present her two-day workshop in Belfast to introduce psychotherapists in Ireland to this approach. The attendees benefited from Carol’s comfortable style of presentation and her immense knowledge and experience.

The general feeling was one of pleasure at having the opportunity to attend such an insightful, informative and entertaining workshop. I commend Carol and her workshop to anyone wanting to enhance their EMDR practice.

About the Distance Learning Course: Healing the Heart of Complex Trauma and Dissociation with EMDR and Ego State Therapy

This is a great course. It is so very rich. Your home study is a nice mix of clinical examples and broad principles to use in the preparation and delivery of EMDR. It is paced in a way that I don’t feel overwhelmed (my common experience at workshops) and it integrates enough of what is old EMDR concepts with new Ego State work that I find it quite fascinating. After I complete the work shop I will review every few months to help keep me sharp. Nicely done. Thanks for doing this.
